I want you and HearUs volunteer...Dear Diane Nilan,

I want you and HearUs volunteers to know you are heard, witnessed and loved by me. I am a mom with a social service youth agency who reads about people's passions to help those who struggle and I witness the emotional expressions of those who struggle in some way. What I know is that I love you, them, and even myself for being part of this big crazy green spinning ball in space. In the middle of the blackness of space there are stars that shed light. Diane and Pat and those who perish or suffer are stars too, and your light past or present goes into the stratosphere of hearts. Light continues on indefinitely. That's physics. So too with human love-it is a light. Every cell of us is light, and light can and does bend, defying logic.
I hold a candle for you when yours burns down. Rest, and tomorrow you'll see, the sun rises. When you see it, I'll be seeing it too.
Hugs,
Janyce HamiltonAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07763920601145535931noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7659580645502415893.post-50056528536952172152015-09-06T11:37:34.871-07:002015-09-06T11:37:34.871-07:00Here is an article about this event. http://www.ch...Here is an article about this event. http://www.chicagotribune.com/suburbs/naperville-sun/community/chi-ugc-article-homelessness-activist-selected-for-top-joliet-2015-09-06-story.htmlDiane Nilanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03886329898369901405noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7659580645502415893.post-74785176237798279162015-02-09T06:26:53.053-08:002015-02-09T06:26:53.053-08:00Well, that sounds like a pain in your arse. Also, one of the first things that happened in 2008 was the distribution of materials and labors to those with homes (trailers, usually) who needed insulation installed or upgrades to help keep costs down. Is there nothing like that in Maine? People fear a rise in taxes, along with some idiotic belief they will lose their innate freedom to doctor shop if they would so desire. Question: Who can AFFORD to doctor shop. But back to taxes. If my taxes went up 300$ a month, but my health care premium went down 600-1000$ a month, have I lost something? It is all so frustrating.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05147738565412117423noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7659580645502415893.post-49472918563599306082010-02-22T07:06:14.489-08:002010-02-22T07:06:14.489-08:00i HAVE FOLLOWED YOU ON YOUR TRAVELS. I'd like to hear more. Of course I understand your "anger" about the materialism of our society. I, myself, have become a minimalist of sorts. After living in a 3 bedroom house and moving into a 2 bedroom very small apartment, I am aware of how much less I need to survive. I sit here wondering what do I need from the store? Right now I can't think of anything. I've needed ink for my printer since last June, can't afford it, but I get by without it. Getting the batteries to my wireless phones is important, although I have an old phone I can plug in that isn't wireless. Quarters to do laundry is important, if you have the money to get them. Anyway, I'm glad I have no vices ~ no smoking since 1989. I stay home, so I don't need gas in my van as much. Such is life of simplicity with no credit cards or their bills. I'm there with ya Diane ~ sleep well and stay warm ~ peace be with you!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08285196078966098819noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7659580645502415893.post-65139529905353478562009-09-28T18:22:34.837-07:002009-09-28T18:22:34.837-07:00I can only hope for some tech help!!I can only hope for some tech help!!Diane Nilanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03886329898369901405noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7659580645502415893.post-45774314068993339472009-09-24T10:13:31.529-07:002009-09-24T10:13:31.529-07:00Diane, I'm looking forward to following you on...Diane, I'm looking forward to following you on your interactive map. Today it might be a family that's down on their luck, or perhaps it's a single person wanting to cut expenses. No matter, there are ways of heating and cooling, and cooking and cleaning, and having a full life to boot.
